he, him

'He' is used as a subject, while 'him' is used as an object in a sentence. When using 'he' or 'him' as one of two subjects or objects, an easy tip is to use the one that makes sense when the other subject is omitted.

Incorrect: Sally and him were the last two standing.
Correct: Sally and he were the last two standing. (He was the last one standing.)

Incorrect: The award went to Melissa and he.
Correct: The award went to Melissa and him. (The award went to him.)

Incorrect: Him and I went to the store.
Correct: He and I went to the store. (He went to the store.)
